No joke: Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent are dating, a source confirms to UsMagazine.com. The unexpected pair were photographed looking romantic at a New Orleans bar on Sunday."It's been going on awhile," the source says of the comedienne and the rapper, both 35. Nelly reunites with his “Dilemma” collaborator Kelly Rowland for “Gone,” the Jim Jonsin and Rico Love-helmed follow-up to their 2002 chart-topping duet. Picking up where their Grammy-winning single left off, the smooth sequel panders to both pop and R&B audiences with a sultry beat.
“Let’s be honest, we can’t do ‘Dilemma’ over again. That’s etched in time,” Nelly told Rap-Up.com of the hit, which was named one of Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. “It is what it is; that song was for that point in time.”
“Gone” will appear on the St. Louis rapper’s new album 5.0(Nov. 16). “It’s kinda like an extension of the story,” he explained, “and still playfully having fun with it like we did with the first one.”

Ahem! Is this thing on? I'm a Minnesota grown singer/songwriter just trying to make my mark in our state and in the industry. I'm a goofball and tend to surround myself with the like. I like to think I am a humble person, but at the same time, I am fully confident in my ability- which to some comes off as cocky. I prefer to let my music speak for itself. And I like wine.
Who is youre biggest inspiration?
OH my. Inspirations. Maria Williams Kennedy, my voice coach and the reason I'm classically trained in vocal music. I'm grateful to her everyday. Rahki, MPLS native who produced my first album. He is an incredible talent and has worked so hard for years to be in the position he's in out in LA. My big brother Brad who had the biggest collection of hip hop/R&B tapes of any 12 year old Up North farm boy I know. I first heard R&B because of him. Also, Ray Charles, Alicia Keys, Etta James, Jay-Z, Prince, Teena Maria, Coldplay, a number of local musicians. This could go on forever!
Where do you look to spark ideas during the writing process?
The writing process is...terrifying, sexy, exhausting and liberating. When I actually sit down to write I'm usually super nervous, and by the end of the song I don't know how the hell I got there! A conversation, a sentence, a stranger, a fight...all grounds for a song. Basically any1 in my life needs to know they could be thrown in there at any time. Hahaha no names I swear. Sometimes it's the melody first, other times it's lyrics first...wow, ok I get it. There's no method to the madness.
What is one of your favorite tracks you have ever done.
OK, THIS is hard. "Believe" is dope because in the first verse I talk about every doubt/question people might have about me, and in the second verse I go back and answer them in order. The breakdown pays homage to Prince and Rahki was not playing when he made the beat!! I have some new material I'd love to talk about, but I'll wait for interview #2.
What keeps you going to keep doing this? and what amps you before a show?
I keep doing this simply because I love it. It's not for the money, obviously haha but I hope that comes soon. I love being on stage, I love making my family/friends who have supported me for years proud. I love to apply what I've learned. It's awesome. I keep a tight circle and we always say a prayer before hitting the stage. It's not hard to stay amped with them around.
What is some advice you would give to discouraged artists out there trying to start their music career? What to look out for, where to start?
My advice would be don't think you can jump into this without training and hard work. My dose of real is that not everyone is qualified to be an "artist", "singer", "rapper", "producer". It sort of bothers me that it's become a trend. Overnight success takes 10 years. If you are serious about it, perform as often as possible. Write everyday, sing everyday, nurture your connections, study the greats. Become so good at what you do that you can't be denied. These are things I still have to tell myself everyday. I wanted to jump right into music after high school but my parents wanted me to get my degree also, so I did. I spend 8 hours a day away from music to be able to pay the bills and keep my dream alive. It's a struggle, but you have to be willing to put the work in.
What is next for Kison?
Right now I'm working on my second album! Grateful to have Paul 'PC' Collier as executive producer He's a very talented, hilarious, soulful person and that comes out in his music. I have a few other dope local producers on board, as well as a track from NY producer 88-Keys. I've grown a lot as a writer and a singer since my first album so you can expect a much different sound.
As unique & amazing as your voice, How do you explain your sound?
Oooh nice transition into this question. My sound is soulful, classical, pop, jazz. Oh wait, was I supposed to pick one? I honestly think I'm all of them but soulful best describes me. It's no secret I am judged on arrival. Lol, let's be real. Blonde haired, blue eyed white girl- Kison Gaga right? Wrong, but I happen to like it when people expect nothing. It's a great feeling winning someone over with a song, a high note, a cold line...I have a good range, a strong voice. I prefer my live sound over studio sound.
Anything else you want people to know about Kison, that they might not already know?
Yes, people should know my hoop skills are coming back and need to be respected. Give me another month and I'll be ready. (What?! I'm just serious.) Also, when in doubt, order the wings. I have a sweet show with a live band backing me at the Maplewood Theatre on 10.16 Only $5 cover. Another show 10.21 @ Barfly with some SICK acoustic/hip hop/R&B acts.

OUT Magazine caught up with Nicki Minaj for an interview. She touches base about Gay rappers in the music industry. The pictures are pretty cool too.
On If there Are Gay Rappers in Hip Hop
“I think there have been many gay rappers, they just haven’t come out of the closet,” Minaj says slyly. “Yup, lots of them. They’re lurking around the industry now. Obviously, the majority of the men in hip-hop don’t want you to think they’re gay. That’s just the reality of it. I’m a woman, so I have a lot more flexibility. And I don’t lose credibility in any way if I say I think girls are dope and sexy.”The Politics of Women in the Music Business:
It’s interesting that people have more negative things to say about me saying ‘I’m Barbie’ than me saying ‘I’m a bad bitch, So you can call yourself a female dog because that’s cool in our community. But if you call yourself a Barbie, that’s fake. Once I figure something is irritating people, I’m going to do it more,” she says, smiling, “because I like to get on your nerves until you realize how f*cking stupid you are.”On Being forced to speak on her sexual orientation
People who like me — they’ll listen to my music, and they’ll know who I am. I just don’t like that people want you to say what you are, who you are. I just am. I do what the f*ck I want to do. The point is, everyone is not black and white. There are so many shades in the middle, and you’ve got to let people feel comfortable with saying what they want to say when they want to say it. I don’t want to feel like I’ve got the gun pointed at my head and you’re about to pull the trigger if I don’t say what you want to hear. I just want to be me and do me.”
YBF: What can [YBF] readers expect from you this year?
Lil' Mo: I have a new album coming soon its called Tattoos and Roses. And I have my own radio show in Washington DC on WPGC 95.5 FM. I've been back in radio for five months and my show is full of gossip, good music and shows another side of my personality.
YBF: A lot of R&B singers like Fantasia and Faith Evans have their own reality shows, is that something you've thought about doing?
Lil' Mo: Well I actually have a new reality coming out that showcases new artists. Everybody says music is dead. Well the best way for us to revive it is for us to showcase unsigned artists. Its sorta like "Apollo" meets "American Idol" meets "America's Got Talent" meets "I'll let you have it!"

Months after his release from a federal prison the rapper T.I.was arrested Wednesday night with his wife in Los Angeles on drug charges, The Associated Press reported. T.I., whose given name is Clifford Harris, was arrested at a traffic stop in West Hollywood and accused of possession of a controlled substance. A representative for the Los Angeles sheriff’s department told The A.P., “Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” adding that “a narcotics investigation ensued” that resulted in the arrest of T.I. and his wife, Tameka Cottle.
T.I., who currently appears in the action movie “Takers,” which was No. 1 at the box office last weekend, remains on probation for federal weapons charges stemming from a 2007 sting operation in which he was caught receiving three machine guns and two silencers that had been bought for him. After a guilty plea, T.I. performed more than 1,000 hours of community service and appeared on an MTV reality series, “T.I.’s Road to Redemption,”in which he warned teenagers about the dangers of guns and violence. He was released from an Arkansas prison in December and from a halfway house in March.

Although this video is basically a combination of Usher’s ‘OMG’ and ‘Lil Freak’productions, there is no doubt that this is one of the best videos released by Songz to date. The editing was on point and it went in a completely different direction that the obvious club scene.
However, despite his claims that this video would have taken a new direction than his previous works, the only thing different from some of his recent clips is that he managed to keep his clothes on and got everyone else half naked instead. Then again, what did we expect? There is only so much that Mandler could have done with the limited, one-track mind that defines Songz’s desperate attempt to prove his masculinity.

It’s going to be a triple Diva threat this Atlanta Black Pride weekend as Traxx Atlanta and Traxx Girls are bringing some of the most baddest chick in the entertainment industry to perform during Atlanta Black Pride weekend (September 2-7). The Traxx promotional group has been in the promoting business for now over 20 years and each year continues to raise the bar and bring quality entertainment to both local Pride attendees and those who come to Atlanta from around the world.
Last year, Lil Kim performed during Atlanta Black Pride weekend at Traxx and ironically this year, Nicki Minaj will take the throne. This is Nicki’s first Pride event and first performance since the BET Awards. Nicki has been working the media and in the studio gearing up for what some believe could be the biggest debut of 2010 next to Eminem’s “Relapse” album debut. Nicki will perform Saturday night (September 4th) at Traxx nightclub for the boys in decatur and the Freight Depot for the girls.
Supermodel, Vixen, and yes Kanye’s ex, Amber Rose is no stranger to the kids. Last year she partied hard at Atlanta Live for Atlanta Pride. This year Amber will be hosting Traxx Boys WET-Him party at E.R. Lounge on Saturday, September 4th from 2pm-8pm co-sponsored by Tempted 2 Touch.
Last but certainly not least, Atlanta’s own Ciara will be rocking with the kids for the first time ever during Atlanta Black Pride weekend. With her highly successful club banger “Ride” and her much anticipated album “Basic Instinct” nearing, Ciara is expected to give the kids a show they will never forget.
